Step 5:- Make the caulk smooth with a damp finger or a caulk smoothing tool to get a neat, continuous, and even finish. Use a sponge or damp cloth to remove any excess caulk.
Step 6:- Let the caulk dry according to the drying time instruction in the guidebook of the caulk manufacturer. Generally, it takes 9-10 hours or even as long as a day for the caulk to fix completely.
Step 7:- Finally you can paint over the caulk to match the baseboard or tile floor. It is not necessary but it will increase the good appearance of the combination.
Make sure the paint you use is suitable for the materials i.e. not react with caulk. Be careful that, apply only after the caulk is completely dry.
