Even at present brick is the most basic material for common construction throughout the world. The popularity of bricks as a material of construction is because of their local and cheap availability, strength, durability, reliability, and insulting property against heat and sound.

Brick can be made multiple sizes and shapes depending on the application. The different size of brick is given below,
Standard Brick size in India
The size of a brick in India is 190 mm x 90 mm x 90 mm as per the recommendation of BIS. The dimension of brick becomes 200 mm x 100 mm x 100 mm with mortar thickness, which is also known as the nominal size of the modular brick.
Standard brick size in Nepal
The standard size of brick in Nepal is 240x 115 x 57 mm with 10 mm thick horizontal and vertical mortar joints. Tolerances of -10 mm on length, -5 mm on width and 3 mm on thickness should be acceptable for the purpose of thick walls in this Mandatory Rules of Thumb (MRT).
Standard brick size in Pakistan
The standard size of a brick in Pakistan is 8.75 x 4.25 x 2.75 inches without cement mortar. The brick size with cement mortar is 9 x 4.5 x 3 inches, center to center. This is British standard.
